These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form an agreement between you and Turbulence Limited (“PonderLock,” “we,” “us”) governing your access to and use of the PonderLock mobile application, this website, and any related services (together, the “Service”). By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Who can use PonderLock
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By using PonderLock, you represent that you meet these requirements.
What PonderLock is (and what it is not)
PonderLock is a tool to help you be more intentional with your attention. It is inspired by the values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Church. The Service is an aid, not a substitute for counsel, worship, or personal spiritual practice.
Your account
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your credentials confidential, and to let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Subscriptions, billing, and refunds
PonderLock may be offered on a paid subscription basis. When you purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play, your purchase is handled by Apple or Google under their own terms, and subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled in your store account. Subscription management, including cancellation and refund requests, is handled through the platform where you subscribed. Where we handle billing directly or through a processor (for example, RevenueCat), additional terms surfaced at checkout will apply.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any applicable law or the rights of another person;
- attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with security features, rate limits, or blocking mechanisms, except as expressly permitted;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law;
- use the Service to harass, exploit, or harm others, or to distribute malicious code;
- resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
Your content and feedback
You retain ownership of any content you create or configure within the Service (for example, your blocklists and schedules). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, and process that content solely as needed to operate and improve the Service. If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us permission to use them without obligation to you.
Our intellectual property
The Service — including the PonderLock name, logo, interface, copy, and software — is owned by Turbulence Limited and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party platforms and providers, including Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and Supabase. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or conduct.
Changes, suspension, and termination
We may update, change, or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to protect the Service or its users. You may stop using the Service at any time; certain provisions (including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive termination.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that the Service will meet all of your requirements or prevent every distraction.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Turbulence Limited and its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD $50.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Turbulence Limited from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Turbulence Limited is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, and you consent to their exclusive jurisdiction and venue, except where applicable consumer law grants you a non-waivable right to bring a claim elsewhere.
Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
